oh yeah, Danny D....just because an album shares ONE word with another unrelated band doesn't mean they ripped if off. I struggle to see how they just "rip off a ton of other bands" since they've been around for over 20 years now. Unless you're referring to stuff like Iron Maiden, Van Halen, Black Sabbath.....ya know, stuff BEFORE them, you might say other bands are ripping THEM off. You're entitled to your opinion about not liking the album, but dont start saying they're ripping off other artists. There's nothing in this album that sounds like anything other than new Offspring.

Yeah, I'm pretty late to the game here, its a year later and I finally just got the album.

Sorry Aaron, but I have no idea what you're talking about. Based on your post, I'm assuming you're pretty young. Americana, Iowa, and Nevermind the greatest albums in history? Now, I'm not a Nirvana fan, so I'll let that one slide, but Americana and Iowa weren't even the best albums from those two bands lol. and Conspiracy of One an Offspring album that took over the world??? I barely even remember a single coming out for that album. It's definitely no Americana or Ixnay or Smash. This new album is better than CO1 or Splinter (i enjoyed both of those too) I feel. People have to realize that for a band to play the same shit over and over is going to get boring for THEM. The thing about the Offspring is that their stuff will ALWAYS sell because they DONT oversaturate the market with their music unlike Green Day and those sorts of bands. I don't walk down the street and see a million Offspring ads, and I like that. People can still respect The Offspring because while they are commercial successes, you can tell they still actually like what they do, its not just a "job" for them to put out music. They don't get stale or stagnate with the music they write. I'm a longtime fan and I'm really happy with the new album. Enjoy the music for what it is. When you compare any band to their heyday, they will always come up short. If you take the music and listen to it for the album, you'll find yourself a lot happier with your favorite bands :)

Granted, if it sucks, it sucks lol but thats my philosophy on it. It's probably for this reason that I've never "hated" any album that The Offspring have put out. I've liked some music more than other offerings, but I can enjoy everything for what it is.

I went on the offsprings myspace the week it came out, and was at first dissapointed with what i heard. Nothing stood out for me. Growing up, The Offspring was the band that defined me for myself, and at school, it introduced a lot of us to rock music in general. I was kinda hoping this new album would hold the distinctiveness of americana, in my opinion one of the greatest albums in history. up there in my head with nirvana's nevermind, and Slipnot's Iowa. The reason ththe older albums jumped out at me was because of the timeless songs one after the other, that stuck in your head for weeks. Thats what this album lacks in my opinion, now i've downloaded it, and looked at the reviews, even though i guess some songs will grow on me, but for me, it's just another album. I guess I'm asking for too much, but that's what legend's do. good review, it's helped me look deeper into the album, and inspired my rant.

hope this isn't their last album. I want at least one more that takes over the world, much like conspiracy of one did when it came out. those were good days, and good memories.

This is the worst album ever. All they did was rip off a ton of bands. Even the title of the album is a rip off of the Foo Fighter's latest record.

This album makes Americana seem like a hardcore punk record. If I were them, I'd go back to their classic OC sound, and quick.
