OK, put your fantasy band manager hat on for a moment and consider: who would be the ideal replacement for John Bonham, one of the greatest rock drummers of all time and member of the original line-up of Led Zeppelin?
Well, surely the choice would have to go with one of the greatest drummers of current times - Dave Grohl, frontman of Foo Fighters and freelance percussionist extraordinaire.
Britmusicscene.com reports that a “source close to [Grohl]” has told the Daily Star that he’d “drop anything to be part of Zep’s shows”, so it’s not a completely implausible idea.
But it’s a classic bit of UK tabloid non-news, isn’t it? “Source close to famous person says famous person would probably be really keen to work with other even-more-famous people if they were to ask him to!” I expect that the idea of Grohl on the Zeppelin drum-stool will have to remain filed under wishful thinking for now … but fingers crossed, eh?
