Early Gogol Bordello albums to be re-released in Europe

January 3rd, 2008 by The Editor

Gogol BordelloEndearingly crazed Eastern European Gypsy punks Gogol Bordello crashed into the ears of the general public in late 2005 with their Gypsy Punks: Underdog World Strike album on SideOneDummy Records.

But Gypsy Punks was actually their fourth release. The previous three titles, the albums Voi-La Intruder and Multi Kontra Culti Vs. Irony plus the East Infection EP, were short run releases on the tiny Rubric Records, and have only been available in Europe as imports or bootlegs.

Until now, that is. Italian label Rude Records are re-releasing these early examples of the Gogol Bordello oeuvre into Europe in February 2008 – more details at the Rude Records website. In the meantime, the Gypsy punks are going to be touring again later this year – so start wearing purple.
