Enter Shikari announce autumn tour dates

May 1st, 2008 by The Editor

Enter ShikariSay what you like about Enter Shikari, those guys work hard. And they love being on the road, too - so much so that, just a few months into recording their next album, they’ve announced a new batch of tour dates.

Scheduling being what it is, Enter Shikari are sensibly aiming to roll out in the autumn after the festival season to catch the new student crop. You can catch their unique brand of glowstick-powered hardcore metal at the following venues:

30 September: London - Camden Underworld
2 October: Cambridge - Corn Exchange
3 October: Hull - University
4 October: Nottingham - Rock City
5 October: Keele - University
7 October: Oxford - Academy
8 October: St Albans - Arena
9 October: Norwich - UEA
10 October: Peterborough - Cresset
11 October: Hastings - White Rock Theatre
13 October: Middlesborough - Town Hall
14 October: Liverpool - Academy
15 October: Dublin - Ambassador
16 October: Cork - Savoy theatre
17 October: Belfast - Mandela Hall
19 October: Inverness - Ironworks
20 October: Dundee - Fat Sams
21 October: Edinburgh - University (Potterow)
23 October: Newport - Centre
24 October: Bath - Pavilion
26 October: Llandudno - Arena
27 October: Bournemouth- Solent Hall
29 October: Exeter - Great hall
30 October: Southampton - Guildhall
31 October: Folkestone - Leas Cliff Hall
2 November: London - Mean Fiddler
3 November: London - Mean Fiddler
4 November: London - Mean Fiddler

Bloody hell - that’s a bit of a marathon, and no mistake. Just a brief word, as well - if you’ve heard a few Enter Shikari tracks and thought “meh, it’s not for me, gimmicky nu-rave stuff”, well, that’s exactly how I used to feel about them. To be honest, that’s how I still feel about them on record.

But I caught them playing live when I went to see Hundred Reasons supporting them on their last tour - and believe me when I say that when you see them play live you will understand what all the fuss is about. Yes, it’s cheesy; yes, it’s a bit daft … but none of that matters, because Enter Shikari are quite simply a staggeringly good live band.

Go see ‘em play, and then try to tell me I’m wrong; I can’t think of a band still touring that put more effort and energy into their performance than Enter Shikari do. Check them out playing their signature tune in Tokyo back in January:

In the meantime, you can poke around the Enter Shikari website or catch some tunes on the MySpazz.
