If you’re a fan of bright and breezy emo-pop-punk (or whatever they’re calling it this week), make a note in your diaries - Stateside popsters Farewell are coming to the UK to tour with homegrown haircut-rockers YouMeAtSix this October.
Call me old-fashioned, but I like my rock music a bit more surly and gruff; Farewell’s musical prozac just doesn’t push my buttons, so I’ll be spending the duration of this tour kicking puppies and intimidating old ladies in the hope of returning some balance to the universe.
But perhaps you’re in need of some bouncy riffs and positive vibes in your life? If so, Farewell may be just what the psychiatrist ordered. They’ll release a new single called “Eighty Eights” on 20th October, right in the midst of their tour - these are the dates you’ll be needing:
- October 15th - Middlesbrough, Empire
- October 16th - Norwich, Waterfront
- October 17th - Nottingham, Rescue Rooms
- October 18th - Wolverhampton, Wulfrun
- October 19th - Northampton, Roadmender
- October 21st - Leeds, Met University
- October 22nd - Glasgow, ABC 1
- October 23rd - Manchester, Academy 2
- October 24th - Liverpool, Carling Academy
- October 25th - Southampton, University
- October 26th - Oxford, Carling Academy
- October 27th - London, Astoria
- October 28th - Cardiff, Solus
- October 29th - Brighton, Komedia
- October 30th - Exeter, Phoenix
In case you’ve never heard of Farewell and you’re wondering what I’m on about, you can check out some of their tunes on MySpace. But be warned, it’s at your own risk - if you find yourself giving your grumpy alcoholic neighbour a big hug before high-tailing it to Toni&Guy, don’t come crying to me.
