Heavy Heavy Low Low begin work on second album

February 8th, 2008 by The Editor

Heavy Heavy Low LowSan Jose spazzcore math-metal lunatics Heavy Heavy Low Low are headed for the studio to record their second album, named Turtle Nipple In The Toxic Shock. As for what the hell that means, your guess is as good as mine!

Heavy Heavy Low Low are no strangers to silly song and album titles, or silliness in general for that matter. Vocalist Robbie Smith explains that silliness will play a big part in the creation of Turtle Nipple In The Toxic Shock:

“The whole album is really about having a good time. We’re always out to just do what we enjoy, go out on the road and make weird music. The album is just a bunch of jokes about all of the random enjoyment we have had on tour.

[The album is like] The Beach Boys on acid, basically. We really incorporate a surf rock, spacey vibe, and it’s not as breakdown-oriented. It’s still heavy, don’t get me wrong, but this one will definitely exceed a half an hour in running time.”

Love it or loathe it, to go by that description Turtle Nipple In The Toxic Shock is going to be an album to listen out for when it gets released on New Weathermen Records later in the year.

In the meantime you can find out more about the band and sample their musical madness on the Heavy Heavy Low Low MySpace page.

New Weathermen is a subsidiary of Ferret Music, as well as the label that I was told - on a press release in February - that Heavy Heavy Low Low would be appearing on. That may have changed now, of course, but I don’t have the time to go through the entire site every day checked whether anything has changed on four-month-old items. Sorry if that has caused any confusion.
