Ghost Of A Thousand, The Plight and Hexes have all been chosen to play an exclusive free show to celebrate the opening of The Bristol Institute Of Modern Music on 30th March 2008.
This isn’t just any normal gig, though; Ghost Of A Thousand and friends will be playing on a boat. The boat in question is the Thekla, the famous venue which is based on a ship moored in Bristol docks.
In addition to the live music, the show will also see editors of Total Guitar and Rhythm Magazine as well as DJs from Kerrang Radio and the Radio One Rock Show in attendance looking for new talent - there will be collection points to drop demo CDs into when you arrive.
Managed by Mark Clayden of Pitchshifter, the Bristol Institute Of Modern Music opens to students in September 2008 as a branch of the Brighton Institute, with a roster of tutors who have extensive personal experience of music as a career - you can find out more at the BIMI website.
But in the meantime, plan ahead for the free show on the Thekla - details of the venue’s location can be found on the Thekla website. Ghost Of A Thousand will be debuting new material during their set, and you could win VIP tickets to every Ghost Of A Thousand gig for a year …
But remember, it’s a free show, so it’ll be first-come, first-served. See you at the front of the queue!
In the meantime, why not head for MySpace to check out the music of Ghost Of A Thousand, The Plight and Hexes?
