First the good news - foxy mad-as-a-spoon Norwegian songstress Ida Maria is touring the UK in May and June! Hurrah!
Now the bad news - she’s not performing anywhere near enough for me to go see her play, so you’ll have to excuse me while I indulge in a proper good sulk. Still, the new single “Queen Of the World” comes out on 12 May, and I’ll be reviewing that right here at The Dreaded Press.
Maybe your locational luck will be better than mine, though. Ida Maria will play the following venues:
- 9 May - Brick Yard, Carlisle
- 10 May – Empire, Middlesbrough
- 11 May – The Tunnels, Aberdeen
- 19 May - Cockpit, Leeds
- 20 May - Jericho Tavern, Oxford
- 21 May – Kings College, London
- 27 May - Glee Club, Birmingham
- 29 May - The Foundry (Uni), Sheffield
- 31 May - Academy 3, Manchester
- 1 June - King Tuts, Glasgow
- 2 June – Cluny, Newcastle
Sometimes its as if the South coast doesn’t exist, I tell you. So rest assured that if you manage to catch Ida Maria at one of those shows, you’ll not only have a fine evening but my eternal jealousy. Yeah, I can tell you’re bothered.
Still, it gives me an excuse to post another video, though. Here’s the official video for Ida Maria’s “Oh My God”:
Yeah - she’ll marry me one day. IN MY DREAMS.
