What if you were to take a guitarist from one of the greatest thrash bands ever, another guitarist from one of the greatest grunge bands ever, and get them together with Meat Loaf’s daughter to cover a classic Pink Floyd tune?
There’s no need to imagine any longer, as the evidence is available for all to see. Scott Ian, goateed-baldy guitarist of thrash heroes Anthrax, and Jerry Cantrell of grunge legends Alice In Chains (and a fine performer under his own name, too) teamed up with Pearl Aday (Meatloaf’s daughter and Ian’s fiance) back in May to perform a cover version of Pink Floyd’s wistful epic “Wish You Were Here” as part of a charity gig in memory of Dimebag Darrell … and you can witness this astonishing musical collaboration in video form on MySpace.
