Pearl Aday may not be a household name, but her father certainly is - her father being the sizeable rock-opera legend and actor best known as Meatloaf. Pearl and her band are providing support on the UK leg of Velvet Revolver’s current tour.
Pearl makes rock’n'roll music that has seen her compared to Janis Joplin (which is a pretty serious accolade if it’s valid), and her current eponymous album features a roster of notables from decades of rock, from Ted Nugent right through to Jerry Cantrell and her husband Scott Ian, guitarist of skate-thrash legends Anthrax.
The Velvet Revolver tour is in the UK this Easter weekend and beyond, and following tonight’s headline show at the Barfly in London, Pearl will be supporting Slash and friends at the following venues:
- March 22 - Wolverhampton, Civic Hall
- March 23 - Birmingham, Academy
- March 25 - London, Brixton Academy
- March 26 - London, Brixton Academy
- March 27 - Brighton, The Brighton Centre
I dare say you’ll have a hell of a time finding a ticket for those shows right now, though. So I guess you’ll have to settle with listening to some of the tunes on Pearl’s MySpace, won’t you?
