Oh sweet Jesus, why do I bother? Attack! Attack! are so bland I forgot the song title while it was still playing.
The first few seconds of “You And Me” has all the excitement and twisted logic of Pronk bands like Cardiacs and their left-field ilk, sucking you in with a bendy bass workout that disappears almost immediately into a bog-standard pop-punk tune with a hint of The Offspring and a dash of No Doubt. But all Attack! Attack! achieve in three minutes is to emulate McFly without tunes…
Attack! Attack! are going to be massive, and they are complete crap. Theirs is the kind of music that won’t even get its fans to move on to something mildly more interesting… it will just self-perpetuate like a rapidly mutating virus.
Presumably pinching their name from New Model Army’s record label [I'd be very surprised if they've ever heard of NMA, to be honest - Ed.], Attack! Attack! seem hell-bent on some cheery world takeover. Their only desire appears to be getting as many groupies as possible. And don’t get me started on “You & Me”‘s forced and inane lyrics. Take my word for it, this is sterile – if brightly played and produced – shite.
Not even Attack! Attack!‘s sisters are going to remember their tunes in a week.
