Strung Out to tour UK in October

July 9th, 2008 by The Editor

Strung OutVeteran California punx Strung Out were one of the first bands to sign with Fat Mike’s Fat Wreck Chords label back in the early nineties, and they’re still there today, boasting a six-album career and a touring schedule that would make a lorry driver weep.

That very same touring schedule will see them breezing through this green and unpleasant land for a fourteen-date tour this coming October, meaning that you’ll be able to catch Strung Out’s honed and legendary live show at the following music halls and taverns of the British Isles:

  • 16th Oct - Bristol, Croft
  • 17th Oct - Plymouth, White Rabbit
  • 18th Oct - Oxford, Zodiac
  • 19th Oct - Leicester, Charlotte
  • 20th Oct - [day off ]
  • 21th Oct - Manchester, Musicbox
  • 22nd Oct - Newcastle, Trillians
  • 23rd Oct - Glasgow, Cathouse
  • 24th Oct - Leeds, Rios
  • 25th Oct - Norwich, Queen Charlotte
  • 26th Oct - Kingston, The Peel
  • 27th Oct - Sheffield, Casbah
  • 28th Oct - Birmingham, Asylum
  • 29th Oct - Newport, Tjs
  • 30th Oct - London, Underworld

There must be one near you, unless you live on some small offshore island or something like that. What I want to know is what Strung Out will do with that exciting day off between Leicester and Manchester - maybe someone should take them to Blackpool for the day? There’s nowt more punk rock than Blackie, so I’m told.

And just to get you in the mood, let’s have some music from Strung Out - here’s the video for “Calling” from the latest album Blackhawks Over Los Angeles:

The best bits of metal and punk without any of the rubbish - result. There’s more on the MySpazz, of course, and you can go poke around on the Strung Out website if you want.

Where could i get a list of all punk / hardcore / metal shows in Manchester (or UK)? I moved here a year ago and I still struggle to find shows for the bands I like. Cheers.
