The Dreaded Press loves The Wildhearts - and the latest eponymous album is no exception, being the glorious return to form that it is.
The song “Destroy All Monsters” is a big loud clangorous rock riot in its own right, but Ginger’s mob made a video for it that is pretty damned extreme. So much so that it got banned; The Wildhearts have been banned for so many reasons in the past, I figure they thought “what the hell” and just went all out to make the most extreme video they could.
End result? Ginger in a leather straight-jacket/gimp-suit combo; live piercings and injections; people suspended from hooks; girls in cages; cybernetic mutants; open wounds and back-yard surgery; sex; drugs … and, this being The Wildhearts, rock’n'roll.
But seriously, let me reiterate - this is a pretty extreme video, with real blood and real injuries, explicit sexual content and disturbing imagery. Not to mention a fearsome metal number by The Wildhearts as soundtrack.
In other words, TOTALLY AND UTTERLY NOT SAFE FOR WORK OR FAMILY.
