The Hottness to release debut album Stay Classy in April 2008

March 27th, 2008 by The Editor

The HottnessDon’t be fooled by the name - The Hottness aren’t some day-glo clad electro-rock poseurs. Hailing from North Carolina, the band blend dirty Southern stoner metal and rock’n'roll with punk and metalcore.

That may sound like an unmanageable combination of influences, but The Hottness make it work. There must be something to it, as they’ve been snapped up by Ferret Music, a label with a very eclectic roster of rock and metal acts.

The Hottness will release Stay Classy, their début album, on 28th April 2008. It should be a pretty immediate and stripped-down piece of work if singer Adam is to be believed:

“The album was recorded in three days in a bedroom knocking out the instruments in one day and vocals on another, it’s as raw and energized as possible.”

I’m not entirely sure if I believe that story. Even so, if the whole of Stay Classy sounds like the material on The Hottness’s MySpace page at the moment, I don’t think I’m going to be disappointed … but make your own mind up, why don’t you?

In the meantime, I’m going to hope they come to the UK sooner rather than later.
