The Subways hit the road for live shows again

April 29th, 2008 by The Editor

The SubwaysYou can’t have failed to notice that The Subways are back on the circuit. Whether you love to hate them or hate to love them, there’s no denying that they sell out live shows and deliver the goods.

And as if to prove my point, here’s a list of The Subways‘ forthcoming UK tour dates, most of which are already sold out according to my informants (although touts, as always, may be involved in the equation):

  • 18th May - Central Station, Wrexham
  • 20th May - 53 Degrees , Preston
  • 21st May - Kasbah , Coventry
  • 24th May - Foundry, Sheffield
  • 26th May – Cresset, Peterborough
  • 27th May - Wedgewood Rooms, Portsmouth
  • 30th May – University, Leicester
  • 8th June – Junction, Cambridge
  • 10th June – University, Reading
  • 11th June – Koko, London

The free downloadable single The Subways released via their website last month, “Girls and Boys”, has helped stoke the fire somewhat. So the nice people at their record label - in a fit of hyper-postmodern meta-textuality (or something like that) - have released a video about the making of “Girls and Boys” which you can view as a stream in either Wind0w$ M3d14 (high and low quality) or Quicktime format (high and low quality).

Personally, I hate media streaming … and it doesn’t look so pretty on the page to have a bunch of links, does it? So here’s the video for “Girls and Boys” by The Subways in YouTube format, because that’s just better for everyone.

Sorted! Keep an eye on The Subways website for more news, and there’s the usual selection of free tunes and other malarkey over at their MySpace page.
