Looks like The Subways have gotten wise to the modern music market; they’re going to give away the track “Girls and Boys” as a loss-leader freebie ahead of forthcoming second album All Or Nothing.
“Girls and Boys” will be available as a free download from The Subways‘ website from 25th March, and then from other “selected” sites by 31st March - though knowing how these things work, we can assume you’ll be able to get it from all the usual places by then.
All Or Nothing sees The Subways returning after what might have been career-ending throat surgery for frontman Billy Lunn. Recorded in LA and produced by the nigh-legendary Butch Vig, All Or Nothing has an appropriate name for a long expected second album - we’ll have to wait until 16th June to see how it turns out, though, and make do with “Girls and Boys” until then.
The Subways are taking their infectious live performances to the following venues:
- 25th March – Falmouth, Princess Pavilion
- 26th March – Bristol, Thekla
- 27th March – Cardiff, The Point
- 29th March – Nottingham, Rescue Rooms
- 30th March – Tamworth, The Palace
- 1st April – Dundee, Fast Sam’s
- 2nd April – Glasgow, Garage
- 4th April – Leeds, Cockpit
- 5th April – Manchester, Academy 3
- 7th April – Brighton, Concorde
- 8th April – Southampton, Brook
- 10th April – London, ULU
- 11th April – Colchester, Arts Centre
Sadly, those dates are all sold out - you’ll have hard work getting a ticket without paying some neanderthal tout a fortune for it.
While you’re waiting for “Girls and Boys” to get released, there’s free tunes to be listened to at The Subways’ MySpace page …
