Texan post-rockers This Will Destroy You are set to tour some fairly intimate venues in the British Isles this autumn, giving us our first chance to experience the tracks from their recent eponymous album performed live.
This Will Destroy You have had a rapid upward career arc; since releasing their demo/début album Young Mountain in 2006, they’ve had their music appear in skateboarding videos, on internationally syndicated cable channels, in indie documentaries and Hollywood movies – even as the backing music to a presentation in the Pentagon, believe it or not. Pretty good going for a quartet of Texans making atmospheric ambient rock music, eh?
So, get clicking and book tickets for one of the following dates if you want to experience the This Will Destroy You sonic tsunami:
- 9th October – Sheffield, Corporation
- 10th October – Plymouth, White Rabbit
- 11th October – Brighton, Freebutt
- 12th October – Ireland (venue not yet announced)
- 13th October – Glasgow, Captain’s Rest
- 14th October – Manchester, Musicbox
- 15th October – London, Underworld
If you’re not sure whether you’ll like ‘em, you can check out some of the band’s atmospheric and epic post-rock on the This Will Destroy You MySpace page. But the short answer is – if you like Sigur Ros or Explosions In The Sky, you’re going to love This Will Destroy You.
